Life
My life has been hijacked. A week ago Monday I was hanging out in Chicago meeting with my plastic reconstruction surgeon and finalizing the last steps before being rebuilt. Then we went on to Shedd Aquarium and had a blast with the kids.
Next thing I know, I’ve been derailed on an out of control track. I went to Holland’s ER room for what I thought was a silly headache. Got a CT scan, was told I have two tumors, was drugged and transferred by Ambulance to Spectrum where I was told the two tumors are actuallly six and I have maybe a year to live. How did my life go from slowly going back on course to a “new normal” with a body that at least looked “normal” (boobs) to a complete turnaround where death is knocking at my door?! This isn’t supposed to happen to people right? Not at 33. Not when they have three little kids who need a mom.
My friend Holly sent me some very powerful words lately I’m so thankful I got them. I hope she doesn’t mind me sharing them with you:
Just some thoughts for you and some scripture:– I want to encourage you in your thoughts and words because the bible says that ‘Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.’ Proverbs 18:21I always feel that this means it is very important the way we speak…..if God says in his word that death and life are in the power of the tongue then I choose to speak words of life. I choose to speak life into this situation where doctors are speaking death. I claim (by Christ’s healing power) that you WILL live, you WILL see your kids grow old, you WILL be healed. What do we have to lose by speaking life into this situation? Our tongues are powerful….speak life with it.
Thank you Holly. I will begin speaking life today. All of you need to speak life with me today too.Thank you to Gregg and Monica for taking Brooklyn to the beach yesterday. She had a great time and slept like a baby when she got home.

I do not know you. I do not recall how I got to your blog (a friend, of a friend, of a friend perhaps?)
I do know our God is an AWESOME God. I do know our God is the Great Physician. I do know that God hears your prayers and the prayers of the many, many people that are praying for you (including me).
The following is from “Everyday Prayers for Everyday Care for Mothers” and I want to share it with you.
When I Need Healing
“To you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings.” Malachi 4:2 NKJV
Father, You are the great Physician. You know me inside and out. You created my body, and only You know how to heal it perfectly. That’s what I’m praying for, Father. I know that physical healing isn’t always the answer You bring to this prayer, but it is the longing of my hear. And I know that the cries of my heart rise to Your throne. Please bless me with the healing I long for. Give me relief. Help me rest in Your healing hands. Amen.

Yes, words of LIFE! When we got together with our exteded family last Saturday I was sharing your story and asking them all to pray for you. My mom found this scripture verse and wanted me to pass it on: Isaiah 7:9b-11. It reads:
If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.
The Lord spoke to ahaz through me again. He said “I am the Lord your God. Ask me to give you a miraculous sign. It can be anything in the deepest grave or in the highest heaven.”
We are going to continue to ask and believe for a miraculous sign for you Lindy!

That is what you must do…and we as your friends, we must believe in faith that God WILL do miracles in you and through you. We all believe that God CAN do a miracle in your life but we all must believe that God WILL do a miracle! We need to claim God’s promises from His Word and expect that He will keep His promises. We have seen God being faithful to His promises before to your family…why would we have doubt that He would do it again. We encourage you to Live In Faith Everyday and we promise we will do the same on your behalf!

What encouraging words from your friend Holly. You have wonderful friends so full of God and LIFE. God Loves LIFE -He created it. He saw what He had created - a beautiful little girl named Melinda who He claims as His daughter and smiles and says “It Is Good - She Is Special to Me” and now she has grown into this beautiful woman of God. I absolutely love this verse from prophet Zephaniah 3:17 - The Lord your God in your midst (every second of your LIFE), The Mighty One, will save;(He is in control) He will rejoice over you with gladness,(your praise and glory you give Him -No Matter What) He will quiet you with His love.(In those times of fear of not knowing) He will rejoice over you with singing.(Can you imagine God singing over you - me being in music - I am sure He has perfect pitch and it has to be beautiful) This was my own interpetation of this verse - it’s a verse that I always run to because I picture God holding us on His lap and stroking our head and making us quiet and saying - it’s okay- I’m here - I won’t leave you-I promise.
